Our Promise To You
Thank you for being our guest. We want you to browse and shop our store with complete peace of mind, knowing that your privacy is being respected. For this reason, we have instituted policies intended to ensure that your personal information is handled in a safe and responsible manner. In addition, rest assured that we have significant security measures in place to prevent the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control.
FYI
By visiting our store, you are accepting the practices described below as well as our Terms and Conditions of Use. This Privacy Policy describes the information that we collect about our guests as well as the recipients of communications or purchases that we may be directed to transmit or deliver on behalf of our guests. This Privacy Policy also lays out why we collect such information, how we use it and when and to what extent we may share it with third parties. We know this looks like a long and boring document, but it’s an important overview of how we manage the information that we send and receive. If we change our Privacy Policy, we will let you know by posting the new policy here or by communicating with you by e-mail or postal mail. We will so notify you of such changes before using information in a manner not previously disclosed in our Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy was last revised on November 7, 2007.

How and Why We Gather Information
You provide us with information when you navigate our store, search for and add products to your shopping cart, and whenever you make a purchase. For example, should you make a purchase, you would provide us with your name, address and phone number, date of birth and your e-mail address and credit card information. You might also provide names, addresses and phone numbers for those to whom your purchases are to be shipped. Separately, you may also provide us with information when you request to be notified when a product is back in-stock. We store this information and use it to respond to your requests, process your orders and to communicate with you, as well as to improve our store and your experience as our guest.
When you register with us, whether by creating a new account or as part of the process of completing your first purchase from our stores, you will be asked to create a user name and choose a password. The information in your account is available to you only if you provide the correct user name and password you earlier created. We store the information you provide during the registration process so that you can quickly access your account and make purchases from our stores. Occasionally we may ask for additional information, either at the time of registration or when you participate in a contest, promotion or survey involving Jam on Baby or one of our vendors. Do you have to answer these additional questions? No, absolutely not. While these questions are entirely optional, your responses will help us to provide you with a much better and more personalized experience when you visit our stores or hear from us. In addition, depending on the rules that may apply, not answering such questions may also limit your participation in applicable contests or promotions.
Occasionally we hear from you directly. For example, you may communicate with our Customer Care Team by e-mail or telephone. You may send us something by facsimile. We also greatly appreciate the suggestions and product reviews that you submit. Finally, we welcome your participation in offline contests, promotions or surveys involving Jam on Baby. In the course of such activities, in addition to the types of information described above, you may supply us with information that we can use to market and improve our store and to enhance the quality of service we provide to our guests.
Finally, we have access to and may collect and analyze certain additional information related to your visits to our store and communications with and through us. Examples of the types of data that we collect and analyze include the Internet protocol (IP) address at which you are connected to the Internet and other information about how you got to our store and from where. In addition, we collect and analyze the utilization of coupons or other promotional offers; which offers may be uniquely identifiable as having been delivered to certain persons or made available to specific groups. We may also record and keep track of information such as whether or not you have the capability of receiving e-mail messages in Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) format, the operating system and browser that you employ, and the phone number or e-mail address that you use to contact us. When we send out e-mail messages, we sometimes receive confirmations that let us know that those messages have been delivered or opened.
We may occasionally add to and update the information that we‘ve collected with new information from outside sources. For example, we may be notified of changes of address and update our records accordingly before a package winds up going to the wrong place. We also may acquire names and mailing addresses from third parties for targeted postal mailings. In an effort to avoid duplication, we may compare information that we’ve collected, such as e-mail or postal addresses, to information that we may receive from other companies. In addition, we may combine the information that you’ve provided to us with demographic information that is publicly available. We may use such combined information to enhance your experience as our guest, as well as to communicate with you by e-mail or postal mail about our store, services, contests or promotions.
Other Ways We Use Information
We may occasionally send e-mail messages, catalogs or other mail to those people whose e-mail or postal address information we’ve collected or received. The recipients of e-mail messages from us may remove themselves from our e-mail list; each e-mail message that we send out includes instructions on how to do so. In addition, if you’d rather not receive e-mail messages, catalogs or other mail from us, you can always opt out by changing the preferences in your account. We may also need to contact you by phone, postal mail or e-mail if we have a question or otherwise need to communicate with you about your purchase.
Every so often we may include information in an e-mail message about one or more of the companies with which we have a relationship to a group of our own guests and customers. These e-mail messages are a great way for you to find out about other fun places to visit and the products and services that these companies provide. Because we send these e-mail messages to you on their behalf, you don’t have to worry about these companies getting your e-mail address from us. If you’d rather not receive such e-mail messages, you can always opt out by changing the preferences in your account.
